Edgar was a site for disseminating species distribution information for both current and future projected distributions under climate change scenarios.
All data associated with the system has been retained and is now stored within JCU's High Performance and Research Computing environment and metadata records can be searched for via Research Data JCU, which includes links to selectively download the original datasets. If you have further questions, please send a request to the IT Helpdesk and mention that your question should be forwarded to Research Data.
Edgar used bird observation records from the Atlas of Living Australia database to generate current and future species distribution models. These were built for each of 4 Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPs, analogous to greenhouse gas emission scenarios) using the mid-point of 18 global climate models (GCMs) at decadal time steps between 2015 and 2085. Edgar was originally available at the URL http://tdh-tools-2.hpc.jcu.edu.au/Edgar/webapplication/
